Building the Locker Room: A Night at the Spurrier Awards

There are moments when you step back and realize something bigger is happening. That’s what it felt like standing on stage at the Steve Spurrier First-Year Coach of the Year Awards.

At first glance, it’s a football event—one that celebrates leadership, resilience, and what it takes to step into a new role and make an immediate impact. The award itself honors the top first-year coach in college football, recognizing those who elevate programs and bring people together in their first season.

But for us, it was about something more.

More Than a Moment on Stage

As I looked around, it hit me—Man Cave Health wasn’t just attending. We were part of the room.

Standing alongside members of our advisory board, with Chris Doering hosting, our partner Tricia Garzon, FWAA’s Mike Griffith, Coach Dan Mullen being recognized, and Coach Steve Spurrier himself—this wasn’t just a gathering of football leaders. It was a reflection of what happens when purpose and platform intersect. Coach Spurrier continues to use his voice and his legacy to bring people together. And when people come together, real conversations begin.

Where Football Meets Purpose

Events like this don’t just celebrate wins on the field. They create space off the field. Space to connect. Space to build trust. Space to start conversations that don’t always happen easily—especially when it comes to men’s health.

Because the truth is, the work doesn’t start in a doctor’s office. It starts in rooms like this. In shared experiences. In relationships. In moments where barriers come down and conversations open up.

How the Work Grows

This is how Man Cave Health grows. Not just through campaigns or activations—but through people. Through partners who believe in the mission. Through leaders who use their platform for impact.  Through communities that are willing to engage, listen, and act.

Every handshake. Every introduction. Every shared moment—it all builds toward something bigger. It builds the locker room.

Looking Ahead

We’re grateful to everyone who continues to show up and stand with us in this work. Because what starts in rooms like this doesn’t stay there. It carries forward—into communities, into screenings, into real impact. And we’re looking forward to bringing that same energy to our next chapter.

See you in November at Tailgate & Testing.
